Jehovah Shalom, You Are My Peace! Part 3
In this Message we take a closer look at the Gideon before and after. Before the revelation knowledge of who his visitor was, he revealed the inner struggles he faced on a daily basis. (See verses thirteen through sixteen.)
Not unlike some of the inner struggles we battle quietly. When Gideon’s eyes are opened, and he understands that he has just encountered a visit from the LORD (Jehovah), he is frightened that he will die [fear of death].
Now let us fast forward to the after effects of Gideon’s revelation. Although he is emboldened to destroy the altar dedicated to baal, he takes ten servants and destroys it at night, because he fears the people. He raises a standing army of almost eighty thousand men to fight for liberation from the Midianites who had taken over the land for seven years, and they, the physical descendants of Abraham were living in caves, dens and other make shift dwellings.
Now God starts the reduction process, those that are fearful or newly married, go back home, seventy-two thousand left. That would certainly be a major cause for low self-esteem to emerge triumphantly. But Gideon, whom the people had renamed Jerubaal, meaning: “Baal’s going to get you,” was undaunted; and yet another warrior reduction was ordered by the Almighty, so He and He alone would get the glory for the victory.
Sometimes we wonder why our numbers are small, when we don’t have a legion of supporters, the glory goes to God Almighty.
Be encouraged today, if your strength and courage are floundering, remember the God of Peace, Jehovah Shalom is going with you!
Judges 6:22-24 NKJV
Then the LORD said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.”
Listen now: The service has been separated into three parts, like a delectable meal prepared specially for you. Be blessed!
Healing and Deliverance
Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23
What We Believe:
We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.
We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.”
