Born for Times Such as These—The Story of Esther

Throughout this short book that bears the name of Esther, we see the hidden hand of God that is obviously moving, putting people in positions. There are times when God sets you up and you wonder, “Why in the world am I here? How did I get here? Is this a bad dream?” God has you there for a reason. He can use any and every thing for good.

In Esther’s saga, she had no idea what was about to happen when she became queen. But God had a plan. Through God’s plan, she was in a position to implement change for all of her people, and they were spared. It’s important to know that God has a plan. In His Word, the Bible, he says he will keep us in all of our ways, that no evil will befall us, that no plague would come into our dwelling places. Let us have confidence in God and His Word, and hold onto the Word of promise.

No matter what situation or circumstance you are facing, know that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or imagine. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on May 10, 2020.

Key Scripture Esther 4:13–14 NKJV
13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.
