Impossible Situations Amended

Transforming impossible situations into possibilities does not come from our own strength or ability or intellect—it comes by the word of the living God! Let us become confident in God and his word, and thereby become transformers. What we speak in the natural realm will bring about things in the spiritual. God’s word makes these things clear, and this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on July 15, 2018, shows the way to understand and walk in victory over apparently impossible situations. Be blessed!

Luke 1:37 and Matthew 11:20 AMP (see also Mark 11:23, Luke 17:6, and 1 John 5:14):
For with God nothing [is or ever] shall be impossible.”
He answered, “Because of your little faith [your lack of trust and confidence in the power of God]; for I assure you and most solemnly say to you, [c]if you have [living] faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and [if it is God’s will] it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Covenant Relationship

A covenant is a pact that unites two parties. God has made a covenant with us, his people. We can count on God with unflinching faith. When we are in an impossible situation and all odds appear against us (enemies approaching, a mountain before us, a sea, something blocking us from moving forward), remember we are in covenant relationship with Jesus Christ the Righteous, washed and redeemed by His blood. We are in covenant relationship with God Almighty, a covenant that is cut in the blood of Jesus Christ;  since we are in Jesus we are Abraham’s seed and heirs to the promises. Through this covenant, we receive the covenant blessings that God gave to Abraham. That’s why we are called the children of Abraham, because like him, we believed God by faith.

Genesis 6:18, 8:21–22, 9:9–11, 15:18–21, 6:8, Hebrews 8:6 NKJV:
6:18 But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.

8:21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination[a] of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

8:22 “While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”

9:9 “And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your [a]descendants after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth. 11 Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

15:18 On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— 19 the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, 20 the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, 21 the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”

Heb. 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

When God Calls You Mighty, Part 2

When God calls you a might man or woman of valor, there are going to be some challenges. Today we look at Gideon’s reactions and how they emulate our reactions when God calls us. When God is with us, we need not fear. God may even be using your situation to that He is bigger and greater. Listen this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on July 1, 2018. Be blessed!

Judges 6:11-13 NIV:
The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, “The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.”
“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

When God Calls You Mighty, Part 1

When God calls you a might man or woman of valor, there are going to be some challenges. For most times, when God calls us for a specific task, it is an impossible situation. Gideon was called to do something impossible in the natural world. You might be in a similar situation. This relates to us today. What changes are going on in our lives? What is God working out? What is the assignment? Just like Gideon, we might ask, “But, what can we do?”

The Blessings of the Lord

God’s blessings are as a dew over those who keep his commandments, keeping the souls moist in seasons of drought. When adversity comes we rise up and take a stand against it, because we know it is not from God. The blessings of the Lord are an empowerment to prosper! (Some people have a problem with the word “prosperity.” Listen to this message for clarity on that matter.) Enjoy this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on June 17, 2018. Be blessed!

Proverbs 10:22 NIV:
The blessing of the Lord makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it.

And God Said, Part 2

The Bible opens with a clear message: when God speaks, things happen! Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26 repeats the phrase, “Then God said.”

We have to speak God’s word to activate it. We have to speak God’s word into our situations, to know emotionally what to do when we feel discouraged, worried, lonely, depressed, dissatisfied, condemned, confused, tempted, angry, rebellious. When this happens, take the antidote of God’s word. When we experience fear, feel mentally disturbed, need of courage, need of patience, need of peace, feel lukewarm spiritually, in grief, in doubt about God, then we need to take God’s antidote: His word! He spoke to each one of these situations through his word!

And God Said, Part 1

The Bible opens with a clear message: when God speaks, things happen! Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26 repeats the phrase, “Then God said.” Is God still speaking today? That is the question we ask. The answer is Yes! God is still speaking today! What is God saying? What is God saying to his believers today? In order for us to know, we must first believe that God exists. In the Gospel of John 16:13, Jesus said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears.” In this we see the unity of the God-head. When God speaks, we can believe it. When he speaks, we can be certain of the results.
