Lion of Judah Worship Center

Jesus said, “When you pray, believe. That tells us that there is more to prayer than we have made it to be. Prayer is not going to God to tell him the situation and circumstance He already knows. Rather, it’s about us standing on God’s word, while we believe that we have what we ask. We cannot pray to God in hope. We cannot pray with our fingers crossed, hoping that He will hear, and yet not having confidence. Jesus placed an emphasis on believing. All things are possible to him who believes. Therefore, we have to get the word past the layers of unbelief. Belief compels us to go beyond the obvious, by faith in the living God. We have multitudinous evidence to stand on. We have tangled the simple act of believing with doubt, confusion, deception, and lack of depth, to the point where it is fruitless. How do we untangle unbelief? We must seek Jesus, seek to listen and discern, not to analyze. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on April 28, 2019, and be blessed!

Mark 11:24 NKJV
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and his anointing.

Portraits of Redemption – 10

Love Produced Redemption
How did Jesus love the church? He gave himself as a sacrifice, that he may present the church to himself, and that he may cleanse the church by the washing of the water of his word. We as the body of Christ are to consider ourselves dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ. That’s when we see the fullness of Redemption Day. Jesus endured the rigors and shame of the cross to redeem us. That’s when we realize the fullness of the love of God. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on April 21, 2019, and be blessed!

Psalm 107:2 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Ephesians 5:25 NKJV
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,

Portraits of Redemption – 9

The Last Week of Teaching
Now we prepare to celebrate Resurrection and everything that belongs to us. Spiritually it all belongs to us. Jesus, by his supreme sacrifice, restored what had already been ordained for humanity from the beginning of time. Jesus came to restore everything, including things we have not even thought about. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on April 14, 2019, and be blessed!

Psalm 107:2 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Mark 11:22-25 NKJV
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. 25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Portraits of Redemption – 8

New Creation

One of the most amazing miracles is the new creation. What do we mean by “new creation”? We become new creations by receiving the very life and nature of God. That is what transforms us. That is why Satan works overtime to defeat us. When God the Father raised Jesus from the dead, he also raised us from the deadness in our spirits. When his spirit was made alive, so were our spirits. It becomes a reality when we personally accept Christ as Savior and accept him as Lord. Then the life of God comes into our spirits and we are recreated. What is the difference between being a creature and a being? We are recreated creatures; God is a being. These are spiritual matters. It is part of our redemption to become new creations. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on April 7, 2019, and be blessed!

Psalm 107:2 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Destroying the Works of the Devil

Jesus did his part of destroying the works of the devil. After he left the planet, he sent the Holy Spirit and he gave us the use of his own name. We were designed to do the same works that Jesus did. That includes destroying the works of the devil. See John 14:12–14. What does that include? It includes sickness and disease, both physical and spiritual. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on March 31, 2019, and be blessed!

Psalm 107:2 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

1 John 3:8 NKJV
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Hebrews 2:14–15 NKJV
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Redeemed Spirit, Soul, and Body—Inheritors of a New and Better Covenant

When God brought out the physical descendants of Abraham everything was provided for them. Would he do less for us when he brought us out of bondage? Would he do less, and not more? And we are inheritors of a better covenant. God has provided to us all things that pertain to life and unto godliness. (That’s what he penned through Peter.) When the Passover was instituted, it opened the way to freedom, healing, and abundance for the physical descendants of Abraham. Now, today we live under a new and better covenant established on better promises. What are the better promises? The better covenant brought us into the family of God, as his children.

For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on March 24, 2019, and be blessed!

Psalm 107:2 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Psalm 105:37 AMP
He brought the sons of Israel out [of Egypt] with silver and gold,
And among their tribes there was not one who stumbled.

EXODUS 12:8, 11 AMP
They shall eat the meat that same night, roasted in fire, and they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs… Now you are to eat it in this manner: [be prepared for a journey] with your loins girded [that is, with the outer garment tucked into the band], your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; you shall eat it quickly—it is the Lord’s Passover.

Portraits of Redemption – 5

Choose What You Look At

The descendants of Abraham marched through the wilderness. As they marched, they became discouraged, just like we do. As we see the Israelites deliverance into the promised land, we see a type of picture, a portrait of redemption. It is very easy to allow natural circumstances to discourage us if we look at them. We choose what we are going to look at: the circumstances we face or God, our deliverer, and his ability to take us to our promised land. Yes, there is still a promised land. Our promised land is full of abundance and fear free! When we receive Jesus, we are delivered from bondage, and we are translated from the authority of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of God, Jesus Christ the Righteous. But on the way, we encounter challenges—all manner of circumstances designed to keep us in bondage. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on March 17, 2019, and be blessed!

Are we looking at the circumstance or are we looking at Jesus?

Psalm 107:2 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Numbers 21:4 NKJV
Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way.
