Portraits of Redemption – 3D

Is Physical Healing Included in Redemption?

What does redemption mean to us as believers? What did Jesus actually redeem us from? What belongs to us as a result of redemption? If we are redeemed from the past, why are we still struggling?

How do we deal with symptoms of sickness that stick around even when we know we are healed? We call those lying symptoms! As we confess the Word of God, we are healed of sickness and disease! Praise God! Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on February 24, 2019, and be blessed!

Psalm 107:2 NKJV
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

2 Peter 1:3 NIV
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Healing Prayer:

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and his anointing.

Portraits of Redemption – 3C

Is Physical Healing Included in Redemption?

Throughout Psalm 107, we see a pattern: whenever people cry out to God from sincere and repentant hearts, God hears them and delivered them out of their stresses. Jesus delivered us from Satan’s clutches and bondages. What are the works of Satan that Jesus came to destroy? All diseases, all sickness, all pain, all trouble, all sin! God has even made a way for unbelievers to be healed. (See Acts 5:12–16 and Acts 8:8–10.) We cannot deliver ourselves; when we want true healing and deliverance it has to come through the Word of the living God.  Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on February 17, 2019, and be blessed!

Galatians 3:13 NKJV
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”).

Psalm 107:2 AMP
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary.

Portraits of Redemption – 3B

Is Physical Healing Included in Redemption?

What does redemption mean to us as believers? What did Jesus actually redeem us from? What belongs to us as a result of redemption? If we are redeemed from the past, why are we still struggling?

Two ways used to keep us from coming into the fullness of our redemption through Christ Jesus includes deception (which leads to watering down of the Word) and evidence (understanding the evidence). Today when we speak in the name of Jesus, we can heal sickness and disease! Praise God! Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on February 10, 2019, and be blessed!

Exodus 12:8, 11 NKJV
Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 11 And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.

2 Peter 1:3 NIV
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Exodus 15:22–26 NIV
22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

Portraits of Redemption – 3A

Is Physical Healing Included in Redemption?

God is revealing himself to us today, just as he did long ago. He is revealing himself to us as he leads us from the vestiges of bondage into the fullness of freedom. It doesn’t matter how many years we have called ourselves a Christian. The question is, where are we now, have we grown? Are we carnal? Do we believe God’s word? Because what we believe, we will act upon.

The problem with healing is a problem with the integrity of the word. The Word of God is a healer today. In the perfect redemption that God the Father wrought in Jesus, there is perfect healing for every believer. See Psalm 107:2. There is a common view among Christians that healing is not in the redemptive work of Jesus, that healing belongs to us if we have faith enough to claim it. That premise holds that faith is the gift of God and therefore, if he gives you faith for healing, then it shall be. Otherwise your only hope is in the arm of flesh (that is, in doctors and medical science). The second view holds that healing is a part of the plan of redemption, that disease comes with the fall of man, and is a work of the adversary. This message will address this view.

Supporting scriptures for this message include: Exodus 15:22–26, 23:26–26, Deuteronomy 28:1–26, Galatians 3:14, Psalm 103:3, Proverbs 4:22, Jeremiah 30:17, John 6:63, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:3, and Nahum 1:9.

Portraits of Redemption – 2

Jesus Is Our Passover and Our Passover Lamb

Today, as we come to look at the portraits of redemption, we ask: What have we been redeemed from? What belongs to us because of redemption? How should we act as the redeemed? In Psalm 102, God’s instruction is “let the redeemed of the Lord say so.”

Jesus is our Passover lamb, who’s death provided a way for those who believe in him to be saved, delivered, and made whole. When the Israelites ate the lamb at the first Passover, they left Egypt (their place of enslavement), and there was not one feeble in their tribe, none were left behind. Would Jesus do any less for us under the new covenant?

Portraits of Redemption

By the time we complete this mini-series, there will be no doubt about our redemption and what Jesus really accomplished for us! When we understand his loyal love, we get a glimpse into the depths of our redemption. Many things hold us in bondage today. That’s why we’re going into redemption and what Jesus accomplished for us. Our focus verse is Psalm 107:2. In each circumstance, when the people cried out to God, he brought them out of their distresses. The word redemption means payment of a price, a ransom, for the release of a slave—the slavery which we as believers are redeemed from is not physical, but it is spiritual. We are free from bondage by the forgiveness of sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. For more insights into redemption, listen to this message series, delivered by Dr. Dowdy on January 20, 2019.

What Portals Are Your Thoughts Plugged Into?

It is apparent that our thought system is not the same as God’s thought system. In order for thoughts entering our mind to get to our heart, we have to receive them. Sometimes thoughts stay in the head. When we are in a receptive mode, they go straight to the heart. This is why the Lord warns us in his word and shows us by the Spirit. He shows us what to receive and what to reject. We are operating in double portals unless we have renewed our minds, according to Romans 12:2, and until we activate the mind of Christ. The fact is, God does not make suggestions. He tells us what we need to know. If we are still plugged into both portals, we become double-minded. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on January 13, 2019, and be blessed!

1 Chronicles 28:9 AMP
“As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father [have personal knowledge of Him, be acquainted with, and understand Him; appreciate, heed, and cherish Him] and serve Him with a blameless heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and minds, and understands every intent and inclination of the thoughts. If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him as your first and vital necessity] He will let you find Him; but if you abandon (turn away from) Him, He will reject you forever.

Isaiah 55:8–9 AMP
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.
