Focus Faith

When you pray, believe that you receive! We can’t believe that we receive when we go to God in hope. We are hoping. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Faith is the substance of those things hoped for. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24 NKJV) When we come into the land where we are focused on the Word of the living God, we focus on being pleasing and acceptable in His sight. We are focused on receiving the promises of God. He didn’t write them just for the words to remain on the book. His Words are healing and health to all who put their trust in Him. We are to live daily by our faith in Jesus. We don’t go to God talking about the problem. We go to God based on His Word to receive the medicine. He already knows the symptoms. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1 John 5:14–15)  For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for December 29, 2019.

Mark 11:24 NKJV
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.

He Shall Be Called, Part 2

Isaiah’s prophesy was given to the people of God to give hope—a desperately needed hope—that a child would be born to fulfill the Davidic Covenant. God gave the names he would be called and how he would function. God did this 800 years before the birth of Jesus!!! One name is Everlasting Father. Everlasting Father is a king who provides for and protects His people forever. How could Jesus be called Everlasting Father? For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for December 22, 2019. Another name is Prince of Peace. God is not the author of anxiety and stress and fear. And yet all of those beset us. Jesus brought us peace with God and the peace of God. This child is a true prince, with the right to reign. Jesus fulfilled the role of the ideal King. Let us rejoice as we celebrate the One who was to come, who came and completed His assignment.

Isaiah 9:6 NIV
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 40:28–29 NIV
Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

He Shall Be Called, Part 1

Isaiah’s prophesy was given to the people of God to give hope—a desperately needed hope—that a child would be born to fulfill the Davidic Covenant. The titles he would bear were given: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. That Isaiah would call the Messiah the Wonderful Counselor indicates the kind of character this coming king has. The word Wonderful is much weightier than the way it is used today. Jesus is wonderful in a way that is boggling to the mind; we can’t comprehend it. Jesus’ kind of wonderful is awe-inspiring and superior to any other kind, for He is perfect in every way. When we look at Jesus as our Wonderful Counselor, we need to realize that there is nothing that we need counsel on that He can’t give counsel for. His position as our Wonderful Counselor means that we can trust Him to listen to our problems and to guide us in the right direction.

Jesus is Mighty God. Isaiah gave us the picture that the Messiah will be personal, yet powerful. He will be able to calm our fears, and able to calm the sea. He is all-powerful and mighty to save. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for December 15, 2019.

Poisons of the Heart

There are things that may be active and operating at a deeper level than we have knowledge of, or that we don’t consider important. We may even know it’s there, but we don’t do anything about it. Those little things can grow to become big things. What are poisons in the heart? How do they get there? How do they prevent us from being all that God has set for us to be? When we make the decision to follow Jesus, we change kingdoms. We become new creations. And we need to have transformation in our minds, because there are issues we must address. The poisons in us will create a compromise. Some of the poisons include the sin nature (the law of sin and death), fear roots in our spirits, and doubt. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for December 8, 2019.

Matthew 15:10–11, 17–20 NKJV
10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”

The Fall Roundup, Part 3

We are bringing the Fall messages together, for those who haven’t had an opportunity to hear them all and for those who have, to benefit from the heart of these messages and how they fit together to form God’s message for us this season. The last two messages for the Fall Roundup are taken from “The Power of His Resurrection.” We have been delivered from the power of the kingdom of darkness! We must know the reality of our redemption. We must know what we have been redeemed from, so that we can operate in God’s kingdom and not in darkness. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for December 1, 2019.

Philippians 3:8–11 NKJV
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Special Healing Prayer: Lion of Judah Worship Center includes time for Holy Spirit directed healing prayer. Today’s focus is deliverance from the veil of deception, to release resurrection power against cancer, dementia, chronic diseases, mental illnesses, and spiritual sicknesses. The Fall Roundup, Part 2

We are bringing the Fall messages together, for those who haven’t had an opportunity to hear them all and for those who have, to benefit from the heart of these messages and how they fit together to form God’s message for us this season. Today we look at Mustard Seed Faith, Mountain Moving Faith, Ascending to Another Level, and Calling Those Things That Be Not. In these, we saw God’s progression. We came to understand that faith must be planted in our spirits. We must believe and not doubt. (Doubt in your head does not translate to doubt in your heart unless you meditate on it.) If we don’t build a faith foundation, and try to build, we won’t be able to move mountains. Mountain moving faith is from Matthew 21:21 and Mark 11:22–24. These are pressure points. When we plant these scriptures in our spirits, and we continue to water them, they will bear fruit! Faith is nuclear energy; it is a spiritual force. When we release it, it is comparable to a nuclear explosion. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for November 24, 2019.

Special Healing Prayer: Lion of Judah Worship Center includes time for Holy Spirit directed healing prayer. Today’s healing is for unnamed sicknesses that defy diagnosis. The entire service has been separated into three parts. We encourage you to enjoy all three, as a three-course meal!
