How Big Is Your Jesus?

What do you believe Jesus for? Do you believe for big things? For little things? How large is your Christ-center? How do we enlarge our Christ-center? Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy of Lion of Judah Worship Center delivered on December 31, 2017.

Key Scripture from Ephesians 1:20–22 (NKJV):
15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,
23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Why Jesus Came

When we understand why Jesus came, then we understand there was nobody else! We won’t be deceived. All other men who started religions were born under sin. We invite you to listen to this service delivered by Dr. Dowdy on December 24, 2017, with key scripture Genesis 3:15.

Genesis 3:14–15 NKJV:
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent:

“Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

God’s Report—Receive or Reject, Part 2

Who’s report will you believe? Do you believe the report of God, as recorded in the Bible? Sometimes our actions contradict our words of belief. When we say that we believe God, yet are filled with anxiety, stress, and fear, our hearts are not yet filled with the word of the living God. It’s a trust issue. We invite you to listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on December 17, 2017, starting with God’s word from Acts 10:38 and John 14:7–12.

Acts 10:34–41 NKJV says,
34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all— 37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. 40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

John 14:7–12 NKJV:
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Freedom in Jesus, the Christ

We invite you to listen to this service delivered by Dr. Dowdy on December 10, 2017, full of life-giving nuggets and the Word of God to encourage and build you up!

Habakkuk 3:17–19 NIV:
Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.

God’s Report—Receive or Reject, Part 1

Listen carefully to God’s report. We find that Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of Isaiah; Jesus healed people, made the blind to see, the deaf to hear, delivered people from the dominion of darkness, fed the hungry, and more. If we don’t believe God’s report, we have in essence rejected it… Part 1 in this message sets the stage for God’s report, with multiple Bible passages and clear examples, so that we can respond with faith. We invite you to listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on December 3, 2017, starting with God’s word from Acts 10:38.

Clean Hands and Pure Hearts, Part 3

How we use our hands is important to God. Clean hands are spiritually clean in the sight of God. We can’t get them by scrubbing our hands with cleansers. This is no small matter. We invite you to listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on November 26, 2017, highlighting God’s word from Psalms 24:4, James 4:8.

Psalm 24:1–5 NKJV says,

The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters.

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

James 4:8 NKJV says,

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Thanksgiving

What should we be thankful for? Good homes, food in our pantries, vehicles. Yet we have even greater things than these to be thankful for. God is Jehovah Jireh, God our Provider! Trust in the Lord and He will provide. According to His names, we can trust God for healing, peace, righteousness, His presence, goodness and mercy. This is why we give thanks. We invite you to listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on November 19, 2017, highlighting God’s word from Psalms 95:2.

Psalm 95:1–5 NKJV says,
1Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the hills are His also.
The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.
