Trust in God in Troubled Times

In troubled times, we find out if we are really trusting God.

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.

“Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”  Psalms 46:1-3

No matter how formidable your troubles are, do not nurse them, do not curse them, do not rehearse them; give them to God, for He will reverse them!

Give Thanks

It pleases God when we praise him in the midst of the crisis, lifting our voice to the Most High. It is imperative that we do not look on our relationship with God simply as an insurance policy that is going to take us to Heaven when we die. Know that our relationship with God is to be a manifestation of who we are and who He is, right here in this world. That’s how the world is going to be transformed.

I Thessalonians 5:18 says, “…in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  (NKJV)

The Authority in the Name of Jesus

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:23b-24)

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ isLord, to the glory of God the Father. (Phil. 2:9-11)

“Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10, 12)
