And God Said, Part 2

The Bible opens with a clear message: when God speaks, things happen! Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26 repeats the phrase, “Then God said.”

We have to speak God’s word to activate it. We have to speak God’s word into our situations, to know emotionally what to do when we feel discouraged, worried, lonely, depressed, dissatisfied, condemned, confused, tempted, angry, rebellious. When this happens, take the antidote of God’s word. When we experience fear, feel mentally disturbed, need of courage, need of patience, need of peace, feel lukewarm spiritually, in grief, in doubt about God, then we need to take God’s antidote: His word! He spoke to each one of these situations through his word!

And God Said, Part 1

The Bible opens with a clear message: when God speaks, things happen! Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26 repeats the phrase, “Then God said.” Is God still speaking today? That is the question we ask. The answer is Yes! God is still speaking today! What is God saying? What is God saying to his believers today? In order for us to know, we must first believe that God exists. In the Gospel of John 16:13, Jesus said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears.” In this we see the unity of the God-head. When God speaks, we can believe it. When he speaks, we can be certain of the results. Standing on God’s Word

In order to stand, we must activate the armor of God. This message isn’t about the armor of God though. We need to activate the promises of God. Standing requires strength. We must learn to depend on God, without developing a Plan B in our minds. Note: standing doesn’t mean idleness. This is an important, hearty message for you today. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on May 27, 2018. Be blessed!

In addition to this message, the service before the message contains an important healing testimony. Don’t miss out!

Ephesians 6:11 NKJV:
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Do Not Let My Word Depart from Your Mouth

God knows that if the enemy fills our minds with ungodly thinking, then the enemy will control our lives. What we give our attention to gets into our hearts. How do we keep the word of God balanced in the center of our hearts? What do you meditate on? Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on April 22, 2018.

Proverbs 4:20–24 AMP:
My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn;
Open your ears to my sayings.
Do not let them escape from your sight;
Keep them in the center of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them,
And healing and health to all their flesh.
Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life.
Put away from you a deceitful (lying, misleading) mouth,
And put devious lips far from you.

The Word Became Flesh

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,  the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. —John 1:14 NKJV

This message is about the body of Christ receiving the manifestation of the promises of God. When we receive an anchor scripture, we have to believe it, receive it as coming directly from the mouth of God. Then the process of conception begins. Satan comes in many disguises to abort the word. We counter those attempts by doing what God told Joshua to do, “Meditate on my word day and night.”

We invite you to dive into this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on October 22, 2017, highlighting God’s word from John 1:14.

And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception). —John 1:14 AMP

Why

Why was a Savior necessary? Why would He not be born in royalty? Why did His physical life end in a blaze of glory? Why? We’re good at questions. We don’t always listen to the answers… Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on December 25, 2016, based on Genesis 3:14–15, Isaiah 9:6–7, Luke 2:8–12, and Revelation 1:12–17.

Genesis 3:14–15 NIV
So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,
“Cursed are you above all livestock

    and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
    and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
 And I will put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.”

Isaiah 9:6–7 NIV
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
    there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

Luke 2:8–12 NIV
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Revelation 1:12–17 NIV
I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.”

17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.

Do You Know Your Strength?

When we know who we are, and understand our purpose, we will realize we are not just old sinners saved by grace; we are the redeemed, new creations! We won’t allow darkness to brow beat us and dominate our thoughts. God made this possible so that our joy may be complete, that we count ourselves dead to sin. We have to make some changes so we can be in alignment to God’s word. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on October 9, 2016, based on 1 John 4:4.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. — 1 John 4:4 NKJV

Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world. — 1 John 4:4 AMPC

Scriptures about Joy and God’s Strength (not physical strength, but primarily spiritual, although it can translate to physical strength):
Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 73:26, Isaiah 40:29, Philippians 4:13, 2 Corinthians 12:9, and 1 Thessalonians 3:13.
