Your Greatest Enemy—Fear

We as the body of Christ are not to be fearful or walk in fear. We are to put on the mind of Christ. We are living in a fear-harvest season. 99.99% of what we see happening these days is fear based. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on May 13, 2018, and walk in the fullness and freedom that comes from the living God!

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Enforcing the Fear Victory

We need to understand that fear comes from the kingdom of darkness. The goal is that we are no longer held in bondage to fear. It is our responsibility as believers to eradicate fear, by the authority given to us in the name of Jesus. What steps can we take to be free of fear? Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on July 9, 2017 with key verses Hebrews 2:14–15 AMP.

Hebrews 2:14–15 AMP:
14 Therefore, since [these His] children share in flesh and blood [the physical nature of mankind], He Himself in a similar manner also shared in the same [physical nature, but without sin], so that through [experiencing] death He might make powerless (ineffective, impotent) him who had the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and [that He] might free all those who through [the haunting] fear of death were held in slavery throughout their lives.

Hebrews 2:14–15 NIV:
14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

Love Casts Out Fear

The Love of God casts out fear. It is His love, acting and operating in us, that will enable us to live fear-free. We must fill our being with love, being obedient to God’s word, and His voice. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on January 22, 2017, with key Scripture 1 John 4:18.

1 John 4:17–19 NKJV:
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

An Army Loses Courage

We are not to permit fear to reach levels where it shatters our hope, breaks out dreams, where terror takes hold of our vision and future. The antidote is being filled with the Spirit of God, the word of God, and believing, trusting in that which lives inside of us. This is not only an Old Testament Promise, it’s a promise to all believers. For Jesus said, in Matthew 28:20, “Surely I am with you always.” Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on January 15, 2017, with key Scripture 1 Samuel 17:23–24.

1 Samuel 17:23–24 NIV:
As he was talking with them, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, stepped out from his lines and shouted his usual defiance, and David heard it. Whenever the Israelites saw the man, they all fled from him in great fear.

Creating a Fear-Free Zone

Fear is not of God. (Fear of God, as mentioned in the Bible, is reverential awe of God.) Whatever controls one dimension of our being, becomes commander over us. How can we create fear-free zones? Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on December 18, 2016, with key Scripture Romans 8:15.

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” —Romans 8:15 NKJV

David’s Return from Fear Flats

Has a crisis driven you to Fear Flats? What is your plan?
It’s not God’s desire for you to reside there. So what must you do?

  1. Recognize the situation
  2. Cry out to God
  3. Give thanks to God for deliverance
  4. Gather resources
  5. Confess the Word daily, as often as necessary

Walking through these steps is a spiritual battle for freedom. Jesus obtained our freedom. Now we must walk in it. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on July 17, 2016, based on Psalm 34:5–6 NKJV:

This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.

I Sought the LORD

Can you imagine a world where you are not intimidated by fear? That’s the promised land for believers. God will allow us to go thru some fear-filled situations, just as He led the Israelites thru the desert to the promised land. What are you going to do when you face those challenges? This message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on June 26, 2016, is based on Psalm 34:4 (NKJV):

I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
