Mustard Seed Faith

Faith is a substance. Substance is three-dimensional. God’s Word in Mark 11:24 says, “When you pray, believe.” We want to understand the value faith has in our walk as believers. Faith is believing God, taking God at His Word, rather than looking at circumstances. Jesus looks for our level of faith. He said that faith as small as a mustard seed will move mountains. Do you have any mountains in your life? A mountain is whatever is stopping you from accomplishing what God has said for you. How does that mustard seed reproduce? It must be placed in a medium. That medium is a Spirit-filled, born-again believer. When we have stored the Word of God inside, we keep our spirits filled with faith. In order for faith to ignite and produce results, it must be planted in our spirits. How do we plant the faith seed? Meditate in God’s Word day and night, then you will make your way prosperous and have good results. (Joshua 1:8) For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for October 6, 2019.

Matthew 17:20 NIV
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Special Word Planting Session: Lion of Judah Worship Center includes time for Holy Spirit directed time. Today’s focus is planting the Word for help in troubles. The entire service has been separated into three parts. We encourage you to enjoy all three, as a three-course meal!

Plant the Word:

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.

Fight the Good Fight of Faith, Part 4

Recognizing Mind Blockades

Faith is a spiritual law. God is a faith God. Everything we receive from God, we receive by faith. Two mind blockades prevent us from fighting the good fight of faith. We need to know these things, because they will keep us from being effective in our faith walk. The first is a wandering mind. If we admit it, most of us have a wandering mind—our mind loses track when someone is talking or we are listening to a sermon, for example. Our minds have left the moment. That inability to stay focused keeps us from fighting the good fight of faith, which requires focus on God’s Word. The second roadblock, a wondering mind, can take us out of belief. Wondering leaves a person in indecision, which causes confusion. Wondering, indecision, and confusion prevent a person from receiving from God, by faith, the answer to prayer or need. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for Sept. 29, 2019.

1 Timothy 6:12 NIV
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Ecclesiastes 5:1 KJV
Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

Mark 11:23–24 KJV
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Fight the Good Fight of Faith, Part 3

When we fight the good fight of faith, we must know what belongs to us. We must have confidence in what is available to us through the finished works of Jesus. When we fight the good fight of faith, we are standing on the Word of the living God. We are fighting against situations, circumstances, against the rulers of darkness in this world. The good fight of faith we are fighting is to receive the manifestations of promises in our lives. What must we do to fight the good fight of faith? We must stay filled with the love of God and control our thoughts. Until we learn to listen to the Spirit of the Living God, and be obedient, we will never be fully successful in fighting the good fight of faith. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for Sept. 22, 2019.

Fight the Good Fight of Faith, Part 2

In order to fight the good fight of faith, according to God’s principles, we have to have energy. It has a huge impact on our motivation to do things. Fearful thoughts can rob us of the energy to hold fast. When the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, if we don’t lift up the shield of faith to quench fearful, doubtful thoughts, they drain our energy and lessen our motivation. God, by His Spirit is saying to us this day, to hold onto your faith, to fight the good fight of faith. We fight the good fight of faith with the Word of God. We have to be willing. God is not going to  fight the good fight of faith for us. Neither are the angels. We have got to get engaged. These messages are about fighting the good fight of faith, because we have to fight to keep the faith level that we have planted in our hearts. When God says to us to  fight the good fight of faith, He is not telling us to stand alone. He is with us. His Spirit abides in us! For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for Sept. 15, 2019.

Fight the Good Fight of Faith, Part 1

Fighting the good fight is a daily walk. It begins with us speaking God’s Word. We must learn to speak His Word. When situations arise, and we don’t have time to think about it, the Word planted on the inside will come out. Don’t let circumstances dictate your level of faith! Stand in what you know. Stand in your God call! It’s not only fighting the fight, it’s also how we fight. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for Sept. 8, 2019.

What Is Under Your Feet? Part 2

What’s under our feet? Everything that comes from the kingdom of darkness. Hebrews 1:8 says, “Every name that is named.” We are called to name the names  of the things that should be under our feet. Name them, because they should be under your feet. Those things include sickness, disease, poverty, lack, mental illness, violence, and more.

When we confess God’s Word on a daily basis, as symptoms of sickness or disease arise, we already have the victory. Because we have been confessing the Word of the Living God, our faith will have grown to the point where we can say, “You get under my feet! You are under my feet! I am seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. There is no cancer in those heavenly places; there is no compromised immune system there; there is no sugar diabetes in those heavenly places; there is no heart disease there. I am the body of Christ.” We must learn to speak the Word of the Living God!

If you don’t remember anything else, remember that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, far above all powers and principalities, and every name in this world and the one to come! Glory to God! God has put all things under His feet. There is no sickness in those heavenly places!

For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy for Sept. 1, 2019.

Ephesians 2:5–6 NKJV
But God,… even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus

Ephesians 1:22–23 NKJV
22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Hebrews 2:6–8 NKJV
But one testified in a certain place, saying:

“What is man that You are mindful of him,
Or the son of man that You take care of him?
You have made him a little lower than the angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor,
And set him over the works of Your hands.
You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”

What Is Under Your Feet? Part 1

What circumstance has imprisoned you? Don’t you know, it’s under your feet! We are seated in heavenly places. God the Father raised Jesus Christ from the dead and gave Him a name above all names. Jesus is the head of His body, the Church. (This does not refer to the physical building we are familiar with.) We the believers are the Church, because the Spirit of the Living God lives in us. Jesus is the head, and God has put all things under His feet. Since Jesus is the head, and we are His body, what do we find under our feet? God the Father has given Jesus all authority, and we are seated in heavenly places in heaven. So  guess what is under our feet? All things! It’s not automatic. We’ve got to have faith, confidence in the Word of God. When we take time to grow our faith, and believe that we have what we say, the Word works for us as it did for Jesus. When something is under your feet, you have mastery for it. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on August 25, 2019. Be sure to come back next week for Part 2.
