Why Jesus Came – 2020 PART 1
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, rending the devil ineffective. (This applies to those in covenant relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord.) We must understand what Jesus did, so that we can gain that which He accomplished.
Every sin was placed upon Jesus—redemption! Every disease was placed upon Jesus—redemption! Every sickness was placed upon Jesus—redemption! That’s where we get our confidence, in knowing what Jesus accomplished. We must understand that God’s Word isn’t literature. It’s life! Jesus said, “The words I speak to you are Spirit and they are life.” (John 6:63) That’s what 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:4–5 are all about: the Spirit life. It says to the demon world, “You are defeated!” Satan’s act of usurping power was rendered nulled, voided, and destroyed by Jesus (Hebrews 2:14–15). That’s why Jesus came, to destroy the works of the evil one (John 3:8). Praise God! Satan doesn’t want us to come to the place of understanding, and he certainly doesn’t want us to believe and speak God’s Word.
This message includes 5 accomplishments of Jesus. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on December 20, 2020.
Isaiah 9:6–7 NIV
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23
What We Believe:
We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.
We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.”
